Kane achieves his century goal for Bayern Munich
Harry Kane has revealed that his enthusiasm in going back to the Premier League has lessened and he is prepared to negotiate a new agreement with Bayern Munich.
The star striker is at the moment midway through the four-year contract he agreed to when moving to from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the transfer window of 2023.
The 32-year-old forward has accumulated an impressive 103 goals in 106 appearances for the German club, playing a key role in them secure the 2024-25 Bundesliga crown - which was the initial important trophy of his notable career.
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has previously stated that he would like to see Kane go back to England, where he requires 48 goals to surpass Alan Shearer's record Premier League scoring milestone of 260.
However, the England skipper has now suggested that he is no longer as eager about returning home as he once was, and would definitely think about prolonging his stay in Bavaria.
"In terms of remaining longer, I could certainly see that," he remarked.
"I mentioned openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to occur I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation.
"Obviously it hinges on how the next year or so goes and what we attain together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.
"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.
"Now I have been there a couple of years I would likely say that has diminished a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.
"What I have discovered in my career is that different chances and different periods happen and things fall in place. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."
Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions
Kane is the record top marksman for both Tottenham and England and not long ago became the speediest player this century to achieve 100 goals for a club participating in one of Europe's top five competitions, reaching the landmark in just 104 games for Bayern.
However, a trophy had escaped him until he secured the German title last season.
Kane states that he was not sure how he would respond after overcoming his trophy drought, but now thinks it has made him eager for more success.
"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he added.
"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've demonstrated that this year.
"I was intrigued in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to achieve in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.
"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.
"But for sure, I challenged myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."
