From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as important members in House Halovar could assist the team enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Questers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can expect finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
